Dancing Horse Challenge

Dear Friends,

We need your help to make the 2008 Dancing Horse Challenge even better than last year!

In order to exceed last year's goal for this breast cancer charity event, we need to raise $20,000. This sponsorship money will bring in more participants, donors and spectators - improving both Saturday's performance and the entire Potomac Valley Dressage Association's (PVDA) Ride for Life Dressage Show that weekend. As we found with last year's growth, this is the key to raising more dollars for The Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Center.

Thanks to your generous donations last year, we collectively raised over $11,000 for breast cancer research and enabled us to hold the first annual Jill Hassler-Scoop Memorial Dancing Horse Challenge. This event, at the PVDA Ride for Life, was created in the name of our friend Jill Hassler-Scoop, who died of breast cancer in October 2006. Last year's successes raised over $45,000 for The Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Center.

In 2008, the Ride for Life Horse Show will again hold the Dancing Horse Challenge. The excitement from last year generated even more passion and creative ideas for 2008. As chairman for Saturday night's event, I have been working with many dedicated volunteers to create a program of international-level performances from diverse disciplines. The evening is sure to be full of fun, excitement, and education, while helping to raise money for breast cancer research and sharing the beauty of horses with the public.

We thank you for your continued support and hope you will help us to make this year an even bigger success. We hope you will join us on the evening of June 28th, for the gala dinner, Dancing Horse Challenge, and fun dancing afterward!
