Socrates, aka "Soccer", owned by Randy Johnson and Greener Pastures, LLC, has been in training with Barbara since the winter of 2005. Socrates has had amazing success in his short time as a dressage horse.
At a recent clinic with Axel Steiner, Socrates and Barbara demonstrated a Third Level test. Socrates impressed the crowd with his extended trot, which Axel Steiner said "could not have been done better". He also commented on the very clear differences the pair showed between collected, medium and extended gaits.
In his first year of dressage competition with Barbara, he scored consistently in the 70’s at First Level, achieving High Score at one show with a 78%. In 2006, Soccer debuted at Third level, achieving High Score at Third Level at 3 different shows, attaining scores in the high 60’s and 70 percent.
In the Fall of 2007, Socrates made his debut at 4th Level. He continues to impress the judges. He received many scores of "8", and was told that he was "a pleasure to judge".
